Martha Lamm

Former Executive Director, Nash County Travel & Tourism

As the former Executive Director of Nash county Travel and Tourism, I was fortunate to have Pete Armstrong serve on the Travel and Tourism Council. The Council is comprised of representatives from the Tourism Industry such as hotels, restaurants, attractions and local government. Pete represented the City of Rocky Mount.

Part of Pete’s responsibility, as a Council member, included the monitoring of all marketing and advertising projects. The Tourism projects/advertising are funded by a local hotel tax. The Council is accountable for every project, attraction or festival funded by the tax
to assure fiscal accuracy.

With Pete’s guidance, the Council helped sponsor the implementation of the Sports Complex, Imperial Center, the Denton Street Pool, Christmas parade, Sunset Park renovations and local parks in need of a “face lift.” The Creation of new attractions and improvements to existing facilities, resulted in attracting hundreds of tourists who added substantially to our local economy!

Pete enjoys life and it shows…as he can relate to anyone! His leadership, integrity and kindness…plus a great sense of humor make Pete an excellent candidate for the City Council of Rocky Mount! I encourage our citizens to exercise their right to vote!

Dale Smith

Former City of Rocky Mount Parks & Recreation Director

Pete Armstrong is one of the finest men I know, and I am proud to call him a friend. I was extremely excited to hear that Pete would be running for a City Council seat in Rocky Mount. I have known him now for 15 years. I have always found him to be innovative, thoughtful, honest and a man of integrity.

He loves being a Rocky Mount resident and will work to do whatever he can to be the best representative of his Ward and the City as a whole. I cannot think of a better candidate than Pete Armstrong for Rocky Mount City Council.
